Sheppey United navigated a tricky FA Cup fixture against a resilient Rusthall side, striking three times in the second half to seal a emphatic 3-0 victory on the road.

The Ites lined up without the injured Mo Dabo and Harlain Mbayo, introducing Simon Kabamba to the starting XI while welcoming Mams Diallo back to the bench. Rusthall started brightly, registering an early 25-yard attempt and testing the Ites' defence with set-pieces, but goalkeeper Earle was alert to gather high balls and sweep up dangerous breaks, also Lawrence was on hand to hack away a Ructhall goal bound effort.
Sheppey threatened mid-way through the half when Leonards picked out Salako from a corner, though the header flew wide. Salako thought he had given the visitors the lead in the 38th minute after putting the ball in the net, but the linesman’s flag ruled it out for offside. Right before the interval, Dylan Adjei-Hersey turned in the box off a second-phase corner to force a sharp save, leaving the sides level at 0-0 at halftime, but the home side the much better of the two teams.
The Sheppey United intensity picked up immediately after the break. Alfie Evans skimmed a free-kick just over the bar, while Earle comfortably handled Rusthall's attempts at the other end. A scary moment in the 63rd minute led to a lengthy stoppage when Earle and Lawrence clashed in the air, though both players were cleared to continue.
The breakthrough finally came in the 73rd minute. Ben Clark delivered a pinpoint assist into the area, setting up Jacob Spencer to volley home a crisp finish for 0-1.
Just three minutes later, Spencer was at it again. Capitalising on a defensive error, he calmly lifted the ball over the onrushing Rusthall keeper to double the lead. Spencer nearly completed a rapid-fire hat-trick in the 81st minute, but his effort smashed off the post.
With the hosts pushing late, Sheppey put the result completely out of reach in stoppage time. After Evans cleared a dangerous ball out of the box, substitute Shaq Gordon latched onto it, sprinted over 40 yards on a solo counter-attack, and coolly slotted past the goalkeeper in the 94th minute to wrap up a commanding 3-0 win.
