Following a thorough review and selection process, the club is delighted to confirm the appointment of Lee Allen and Kevin Long as Joint Chairmen of Sheppey United Football Club.

Both Lee and Kevin bring an intimate knowledge of the club's daily operations:

* Lee Allen steps into the Joint Chairman role while continuing his hands-on duties supporting 1st team managers Ian and George Batten, serving as first-team Kit Man, and 1st team day-to-day operations as well as leading the clubs social media platforms. Lee was also acting as Co-Vice Chairman with David Ingram up until this new appointment.

* Kevin Long serves as Joint Chairman alongside Lee while continuing to oversee the club's financial health as Treasurer across both the main club and youth sections, as well as assisting on matchday operations. Kevin has also played a major role securing funding for specific projects, including the recent installation of roof solar panels on the clubhouse.

With both Lee and Kevin remaining in their respective current operational roles for the foreseeable future, it ensures a seamless transition and continuous stability across all levels of the club.

Statement from Lee Allen

"I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working in a number of roles at the club over the last six years, learning and gaining invaluable knowledge from some truly great people along the way. I'm looking forward to bringing those experiences into this new role alongside Kevin.

"Having worked so closely with Kevin already over the last two years, I'm delighted to be stepping into this partnership with him.

"As a boy watching The Ites back in the 1980s, and then witnessing the club fold and be reborn, sustainability and steady growth—alongside reinforcing our community and family club feel—is something I am deeply passionate about continuing to build.

"I’m very happy that with Kevin working alongside me, I can still continue my first-team role supporting Ian and George Batten and the first-team squad.

"Thank you once again to Liz and Emma Batten for allowing us this fantastic opportunity, and also a special thank you to Alan Doucy who took the time out to speak to me about aspects of this role - and sorry Nicola, more time on the phone now!"

Statement from Kevin Long

"It’s a real honour to be appointed Joint Chairman of Sheppey United alongside Lee, and I’d like to thank Liz and Emma Batten for their trust in us and the opportunity to help lead the club forward.

"Through my role as Treasurer for both the main club and youth section, I’ve seen first-hand the dedication that goes into keeping this club running. Our volunteers, staff, supporters and sponsors all play a vital part, and I’m looking forward to continuing to work with them in this new role.

"Lee and I already work closely together, and we share the same ambition, to see Sheppey United progress while remaining financially sustainable and true to its community and family values. We want to build on the foundations already in place and make sure the decisions we take support the club’s long-term future.

"I’ll continue in my Treasurer roles and remain involved in matchday operations. Staying connected to the everyday running of the club matters to me, as does strengthening the relationship between our youth section and the wider club.

"There is a lot to be proud of at Sheppey United, and plenty to look forward to. I’m excited to get started alongside Lee and everyone who helps make this club what it is. Up the Ites!

Both Kevin and Lee wish to point out they are very approachable in person, but both can also be emailed to deal with any enquiries.
