Sheppey threatened early, with Ethan Cole forcing a fine save from Jordan Perrin in the 8th minute via a powered header from a corner. The Ites kept pushing, and D'Jean Spencer came agonizingly close just past the quarter-hour mark—first firing just over from distance before having a goalbound strike cleared off the line in the 15th minute.
The breakthrough finally arrived in the 31st minute when Oghosa Williams opened the scoring, finishing cleanly after some magic in the build-up from Ben Clark who not only carved out a great run, but put a great ball across the box for the new striker to convert.
Just six minutes later, Williams produced a moment of magic. Spotting Perrin off his line, Williams unleashed a stunning 25-yard lob over the Sevenoaks keeper to double Sheppey’s advantage, with the assist from Simon Kabamba equally as good.
The half wasn't without setbacks for the Ites, as Spencer was forced off in the 38th minute with a potential hamstring injury, replaced by Danny Leonard. Sevenoaks looked for an immediate response, rattling the crossbar in the 42nd minute before Harley Earle produced a sharp save from a free-kick to preserve the two-goal cushion going into the break.
Sheppey introduced Kaelem Sobhee-Turner at halftime for Ben Clark, and the substitute immediately made an impact, winning set pieces and driving the Ites forward. Williams almost completed a stunning hat-trick on the 55-minute mark, but Perrin saved his first attempt before the follow-up cleared the crossbar.
At the other end, Earle and the Sheppey defence stood firm, comfortably dealing with a spell of Sevenoaks corners past the hour mark.
Changes late on saw Mikey Salako, Mo Dabo, and Josh Wisson introduced as Sheppey looked to manage the closing stages.
Sevenoaks managed to set up a tense finish when they pulled a goal back in the 87th minute to make it 2–1. However, the Ites managed the final moments calmly to lock down the victory and ensure their name is in the hat for the Kent Senior Cup quarter-finals.
