Wingers Danny Leonard and D'Jean Spencer are the first retained players announced by Ian & George Batten.

Ian Batten said, "Me and George are delighted to announce that club captain Danny Leonard has committed to another year at the ites.

Having played and now managed Danny I know exactly what me and George are getting, without doubt one of the best players in step 4 and has sheppey united in his blood, was very important to get Dan done early with some very exciting players to follow…....!"

Leonard said, "This club means so much to myself and my family. It’s somewhere where I’d love to play football for as long as I possibly can. There so many good people involved with the club which makes it a pleasure represent and captain the team.

After last years long lay off, I’m already preparing for next season and making sure I come back in the best possible shape. I’d like to thank the fans for sticking with me last season which is something that kept me going and helped me get back playing. It’s time to repay their support and trust, which is something I’m sure we can do next season!”

On Spencer, Batten added"I think any supporter that come to watch when me and George took over that DJ was one of the most exciting players going forward. He will be very important for us next season and will get fans off their seats next season for sure."

Speaking about a new season, Spencer who assisted our last goal of the season added, "“Happy to be back for another Season with Sheppey, it’s a great club, I have a good realtionship with the fans and the manager and look forward to getting back out there”
