Sheppey United are delighted to confirm Sam Stone has joined the club as 1st Team Sports Therapist ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Sam has a good football background having worked at Lordswood last season and has also covered at Sittingbourne FC previously.

Speaking about Sam joining the Ites, Assistant Manager Darren Blackburn said, Sam without doubt is our best signing of the summer. I met her a while ago with Lee and could tell she was a perfect fit for the club, very knowledgeable and a great character, we have worked hard to ensure this was an attractive option for her.

“She’ll be a great asset to the club and we had to fight off a couple of other clubs to get her on board, but she was impressed with the club & facilities which are far above what most other clubs have locally, it was nice she recognised that straight away and wanted to come here.

“Although we will never get everything right, every time, as a club we strive to do things the right way, making improvements where we can and having a very capable and experienced physio is vital at this level to help keep players game ready and healthy, not only for us but so we can ensure the players stay fit for their day jobs as well.

General Manager Lee Allen added, “I was delighted to hear from Sam that she’s agreed to join us. Getting good physios and sport therapist is a tricky task right now, there’s lots of clubs trying to recruit them and we’ve managed to get ourselves a good one in Sam.

“I know our lads will appreciate her straight away, and everyone at Sheppey United welcomes her onboard.”
Sheppey United would also like to thank Alice Lee, Erin Rose, Gary Metcalfe and Manny who all played a part in covering physio and sport therapy duties last season.

Welcome to the Ites Sam!
