Football boots drop off and collection for African football teams

Following on from our recent update on our Sheppey United football kits that were donated and sent out to our friends Bright Stars Deaf Football Club in Uganda (see the news link here >, we are pleased to be able to release details of our “Boots for Bright Stars” campaign.

We are asking anyone in the local community who have a pair of football boots they are no longer using to please donate to this worthy cause. Our aim is to collect all donated football boots and send these with more kit out to Africa and Bright Stars Deaf Football Club. Not only Bright Stars but lots of other African community football teams in that region.

We are lucky that most of us will look to get a new pair of boots when the season starts, maybe your son or daughter has grown out of theirs? If you could donate to this worthy cause it will make the lives of those less fortunate than ourselves so much better.

“Football brings so many people together, be that family, friends and fellow team mates and by donating any unwanted football boots to this appeal can bring communities in Africa together too. Most of the teams out there don’t have ANY boots, some are bare feet, some are using footwear with holes in so what better way than for all of us to help and bring the love of football together for everyone”. Says Commercial Director Paul Rogers.

Please spread the word, share this post and follow these simply steps:

  • We will take any football boots of any make and any size
  • We ask that they are in good condition and have wear left in them (no holes or ripped soles)
  • They can be Astro trainers, moulded, spikes or studded football boots
  • Please make sure they are cleaned before being donated
  • Please place the football boots in a plastic bag (one pair per bag please)
  • Football boots and trainers can be dropped off at the club shop before any home pre-season or home league fixture

We hope the local community will get behind this campaign to help others enjoy the beautiful game.

Our thanks as always for your continued support.
