GILLIES ENTERS THE FRAY AS TWO ITES DEPART

New Signings

Sheppey United are delighted to welcome Liam Gillies to the team whilst we also say farewell to two of the squad.

Assistant Manager Marcel Nimani said “We’re delighted to welcome Liam Gillies into our set up. Liam is a young but experienced step 4 player having joined us from Whitstable Town. Liam has also previously played for Sevenoaks.

“He’s a ‘box to box’ central midfielder who possess great attributes on the ball and brings to the team bundles of energy.”

Marcel then turned his attention to some departures “As with every arrival, this unfortunately leads to departures. Taking this opportunity we would like to wish both Mike Freiter and Luke Griffiths all the best for the future.

“These two are great individuals who were a real pleasure to work with and both of them are talented players.

“Luke Griffiths has now moved on to Whitstable Town and Mike Freiter has decided to move abroad.”

Griffiths made 4 appearances for the Ites, his first as a substitute away at Tower Hamlets and his last at Hollands and Blair.

Freiter made 5 appearances for the Ites, making his debut away at Eastbourne. He scored 3 goals of Sheppey, including a brace against Canterbury City last week.

Our next home game is on Friday night against Tunbridge Wells (7:45PM), tickets are available via our website or you can purchase at the turnstiles.
