Sheppey United ended the month of August top of the league after defeating Hollands and Blair by a single goal thanks to a Ben Wilson strike.
The home side started the brighter of the sides on what was a difficult surface to play a passing game. However it was Billy Bennett who registered the first shot on goal in the 14th minute after a one-two with Midson resulted in saved attempt. Bennett was involved again ten minutes later with a through ball to Roberts whose shot flew across the goal and out for a goal kick.
A shot from Sains was later deflected wide, and then a cross was just too high for Jeffrey to convert with both sides going into the interval goalless.

The 2nd half was better for the Ites, starting with Bennett having an attempt saved on 48 minutes. Ernie Batten then made his first change on 51 minutes, new signing Jefferson Aibangbee replacing James Jeffrey out wide right. The Ites immediately won a corner in which Sains headed down towards the goal only for the keeper to deny him.
The away side were presented with a great chance on 58 minutes after Bennett was hacked down on the edge of the penalty area. Left back Ben Wilson stepped-up to take the free kick and curled it around the wall and into the corner of the goal for 1-0!
With 64 minutes on the clock a sliding tackle by Sains gave Hollands & Blair a free kick which their fullback headed straight to the untroubled Molloy in the Ites goal. The 1st booking of the game came the way of Kieran sharp on 66 minutes after chopping down Jack Midson. A few minutes later Bennett again linked-up with Roberts who after a few step-overs shot across the goal and wide off the target. Ites continued to press and a Wilson cross on 77 minutes looked destined to tee-up substitute Luke Griffiths only for a defender to nip in and knock the ball out for a corner.
Luke Griffiths was later booked as the game started to close out, and after a long delay due to an injury to a Hollands and Blair player the Ites managed to preserve their clean sheet for 2 wins in 3 day.
