Mingle with the Ites

Club News, New Signings

Sheppey United are pleased to welcome Lewis Mingle to the club! Here’s our interview with the former league winner.

Can you give a rundown of your playing career?

Started of at Tunbridge Wells for 3 seasons were I played in the FA Vase Final in 2013. I then went to Hythe Town for short spell, then on to Phoenix Sports were we won the Kent League. Last season I was back at Tunbridge Wells.

What was the deciding factor in you joining the Ites? Talk us through how the moved happened?

Had a phone call from Jono and got really good vibes from him, I joined on a bit later than others but speaking to boys I know have signed I got good vibes from them as well. I didn’t rush my decision when I was asked to come down but after few chats with Jono my mind was made up.

What’s your impression of the setup at Sheppey?

Playing for Tunbridge wells for good few years I am used to playing in front of fairly big crowds, I know Sheppey fans come in force too so i’m really excited to get them cheering us on, and I played at the ground for the first time last season and everything I had been told about it was true, best pitch and facilities in the league.

What are your thoughts on the forthcoming preseason games that are lined up?

We have a tough tough pre-season but that’s a good thing, we will be raging fit and organised come the start of season.

Have you played with anyone from the current Sheppey squad in the past?

I have played with 5 or 6 of the lads at Sheppey.

What strengths do you have that you can bring to the team?

I’m vocal, quite fast as well,

Do you have a nickname that previous teammates called you?

How have you been getting on at training?

Been to 2 sessions and they have been really really good and well organised.

Do you have a message for the SUFC supporters?

Up the ites!!

Thanks Mingle!!
