Jake Rosey at Sheppey

SUFC are pleased to announce the signing of Jake Rose! We caught up with Jake before tonight’s game against Cray Wanderers, where he featured in the number 10 shirt.

Can you give a rundown of your playing career?

Came through AFC Wimbledon academy- age 17 made my 1st team debut played for a further 3 years. I then went abroad to Finland – OPS FC, Dulwich Hamlet FC, Hampton & Richmond FC, Cray Valley and Beckenham Town last year.

What was the deciding factor in you joining the Ites? Talk us though how the moved happened?

I was speaking with Jezza and he mentioned they had a good set up and wanted to win the league. Came to training and I thought it was a good standard and the professionalism is what sold it for me.

What was your impression of the pitch, stadium and fans?

For the level the pitch is fantastic and can’t wait to play some quality football on it.  I haven’t had the pleasure of playing a first team game as of yet, but if the first pre-season friendly is anything to go by then I can’t wait for the season to start. Fans turned up in numbers for a trial/friendly game so should be a good season ahead.

What are your thoughts on the forthcoming pre-season games that are lined up?

Good variety of games, a few higher level teams in the mix and I think if we win those then that should probably tell us where we will be at for the season.

Have you played with anyone from the current Sheppey squad?

Jezza and Benbow at Beckenham last year.

What strengths do you have that you can bring to the team?

I believe I can bring a great work ethic and have a great passing ability and control of the ball so hopefully I can bring goals and assists as well as work ethic.

Do you have a nickname that previous teammates called you?

Rosey

What would you say is your best position on the pitch?

I can play a variety of roles… mostly attacking! CM. ATM OR just off the striker.

How have you got on at training?

I think I got on ok for my first day back at training after a month off.

Do you have a message for the SUFC supporters?

Look forward to building a positive relationship and scoring some goals for you!

Thanks Rosey!
